The Governor Of Georgia Has Signed An Election Integrity Bill Into Law, In Response The The Outcry That Followed The November Election.
Governor Brian Kemp Said That The Law Will Make Sure That Georgia Elections Are Elections Are Secure, Accessible And Fair - Saying The Law Makes It Harder To Cheat - Not Vote
The New Law Replaces The Signature Match Process - Which Is Where A Person Will Decide Whether Two Signatures Appear To Be The Same - With A Process That Requires A State Issued I.D. To Request And Submit An Absentee Ballot.
It Will Expand Voting Access In Georgia By Mandating That Every County In The State Have Two Mandatory Saturdays Each Month Of Early Voting.
The Bill Signing Was Met By Protests From Some Lawmakers Who, Along With Democrats And Voting Rights Groups, Say The Law Will Disproportionately Disenfranchise Voters Of Color.
However, Governor Kemp Says That Is Simply Not The Case.
