The gulf coast is absolutely critical to the production of petrochemicals and the weather forced the shut down of many operations which has caused and world supply shortages. The immediate response was record prices and many manufacturers resorting to production halts until they can get more. The auto industry will be the hardest hit and as we covered recently with the Lumber Shortage and Chip Shortage it's almost industry-wide slow downs or production halts being called. I don't understand how we can run out of everything in the world all at once.
