10 Killed in Boulder Shooting... How Do We Respond?

The mass murder event in Boulder, Colorado yesterday is a tragedy.

I agree with the initial statement of all the liberal politicians when they say things like, “It’s past time to do something about these mass murder events. It’s time for the politicians blocking common sense legislation to either get out of the way or get fired.”

But let’s be very clear about what we mean by common sense legislation.

There is only one way to stop these mass murder events, and it is NOT by targeting the hunk of steel or plastic. It is not by making it harder and harder for good people to arm themselves. The absurd and naïve gun control laws and foolish narrative blaming the guns is why these murderers are able to go isle by isle murdering for 30 minutes or even an hour before they are finally stopped or they kill themselves.

The only legislation that will stop these mass murder events is legislation that lines up with the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution. The Founders called this the “First Law of Nature” and today we call it self-defense. There is evil in the world. Legislation does not stop the wolf, a sheepdog does. And we need more sheepdogs in every Wal-Mart, grocery store, restaurant, and church. Regular citizens like you and me, trained to stop the threat before it becomes a mass murder event.

The legislation we need is National Reciprocity that allows law abiding citizens to carry their firearm wherever they go in any state. If we had trained, armed citizens in every restaurant and every grocery store, these maniacs wouldn’t get ten feet with their hate and murder before they’d be put down by a trained good guy with a gun. Not just a good guy with a gun, that is not enough. It must be a TRAINED good guy with a gun.

I’m asking you to take two citizen action steps today:

1. Call you state and federal legislators and tell them to STOP this insanity by removing all restrictions on law abiding citizens to be able to defend themselves.

It’s time to stop the madness. The responsibility is not on government or the police, it’s on us. You can’t expect to have a police officer in every store, on every corner, or in every home. That would be a police state and none of us want that. We must, as Founding Father James Wilson said, take up this responsibility ourselves.
