Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York City - the night before Hurricane Sandy

The night before Hurricane Sandy hit, I had just moved to a room in a 5th floor walkup on East 88th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenue. My roommate was a unique character who I describe in my first novel "the rails" (TheRailsNYC.com). In the novel, Jill, a street photographer, has a roommate who is modeled after her. Here's some footage of the street, 1st Avenue, at the intersection of East 88th Street, in Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York City.
