Goudar is an Amazigh name, singular “Agadir” in Arabic, which means collective stores. It is a large building used to store supplies and private property and is also used as a shelter for protection by the population during wars and conflicts. It is often built on a high point that is difficult to reach. These buildings are located in the Amazigh region of Souss. Especially in its tribes with mountainous terrain.

It is difficult to determine the date of the construction of these facilities, but researchers and those interested in linking the construction of these collective stores to a historical context known as turmoil and instability, and most of them indicate that the Moroccan tribes that established this pattern of urbanization were seeking to help them in these buildings to adapt to the nature of their lifestyle and economic activity.

These historical milestones chronicle a period known as tribal independence and the supremacy of the tribal institutions system (Amghar - Jamaat - Insolvency). What is meant here is that system that invokes customary laws in organizing the affairs of the various tribes in times of war and peace, including the establishment and management of collective warehouses that secure the needs of the population in times of war. Resilience and prosperity to achieve food security on the one hand, and to secure the private property of the tribe members on the other hand.
