Canadian pizza shop becomes a hit after employee’s genuine reaction to prank goes viral

A pizza shop in Niagara, Canada, has become a hit with locals after an employee’s genuine reaction to a prank went viral. The prank, as suggested to Ben Wasylina by his followers, was to bring a frozen pizza to venues and ask for it to be cooked. As would be expected, most venues refused the request. However, an employee at Pete’s Pizza immediately offered to help out. Unaware aware that the request was part of a prank, Nolan proceeded to bake the frozen pizza in the store's oven.

The next day Ben went back to Pete’s Pizza to thank Nolan, tell him the video had gone viral and even gave him a tip as requested by followers who saw the video. In a conversation with Ben, Nolan explained that he was simply trying to help. The heartwarming moment struck a chord with more than 1.6m viewers online, who praised Nolan for his positivity and genuineness. The establishment also received calls from people around Canada, as well as positive online feedback from people as far away as Europe.

Speaking about the video Ben said: “Followers of mine give me funny and weird public interaction ideas - this specific one was to bring a frozen pizza to a pizza place and ask for them to cook it. I attempted this in Toronto at two different pizza chains, where they both declined me. Then I brought a frozen pizza into a place I have never been to named Pete's Pizza.

The employee (Nolan) without hesitation said he would cook it for me. Upon uploading the video it gained traction in less than a few hours. When I went back the next morning Nolan was working and I gave him a tip. Nolan was telling me he found out about the video by his friends calling him that evening. Also, in our conversation he said he was unaware of the situation I was in when I brought in the pizza so he was trying to help.

In addition, he said the the pizza place was receiving positive calls from around Ontario. Google Reviews for Pete's Pizza have skyrocketed not only from people living in St. Catharines but even from people in other countries and even Europe who were moved by the video.”
