Domus story 1 - Concrete base and foundation slab

I decided to start publishing a new series of videos that trace the history of the construction of the Domus from the very beginning, in the now far (sigh!) July 2009. In this way I'll have the opportunity to pull a lot of pictures and clips out of the drawer, while giving this channel a new life. Yes, because the creation of the video tutorials takes me more time than I really have, and letting months pass between one publication and the next is certainly not a good practice to "ride the algorithm" of Youtube.
In these videos there will be no voices or text, except in the title and the short description that you're reading and which, from time to time, will give the necessary information to understand its content. I hope that this choice will not be seen as a limitation, but honestly I'm tired of seeing people showing up more for an ill-concealed desire to appear than for the sake of good communication. And I think that the content of these sequences is understandable even without many words. Of course, if something is unclear or if you have any questions to ask me, please come forward in the comments and I'll be glad to answer!

That said, let's go to the description of this first chapter, that shows the construction of the reinforced concrete slab that will form the basis of the whole building and the thinner slab that marks the perimeter of the basement floor. Unfortunately I have no pictures documenting the insertion of the steel grid inside the base, which authorizes me to use the adjective "reinforced concrete", but evidently at that moment I was too busy with work to remember to take a shot of each step . That's why in the video I added a drawing to illustrate the placement of the grid in the middle of the filling.
The doses I used for the base are water, cement and sand in equal parts, and the drying time before removing the frame, about 24 hours. The slab, on the other hand, does not contain sand but only cement and water.

Enjoy and see you next time!
