I'm curious as to what all of your Entry and Exit strategies are. I would LOVE some insight as to how you guys approach this.
Thanks in advance!
I do a lot of momentum scalp trades myself. Entry can be a bit tricky, usually some indicator + price action. As for exit, sometimes I'll just do a straight +1.5%/-1% (or +3%/-2% depending on the stock) as my TP & SL points. SL can be trailing if the stock price isn't too jittery/volatile. If the stock looks like a runner (i.e. that it'll easily blow past my TP point) sometimes I'll ditch the TP limit order and just let it ride up until it corrects and hits the SL. Or I'll manually close out the trade if the price plateaus (hits a resistance point I hadn't accounted for) and looks like it may retreat. The other exit strategy, which for me seems to work better for longer intraday trades as opposed to momentum scalps, is to find areas of support & resistance and use those to set your TP & SL points. For S&R I use Donchian channels, vwap, 200 EMA, and just eyeing the chart (e.g. a high or low for the day, or if I see a price level that's been tested a few times).
