Minnesota Court of Appeals Reinstates Third Degree Murder in Chauvin Trial

Minnesota Court of Appeals reversed the dismissal of the Third Degree Murder charge originally leveed against Derek Chauvin. The Minnesota Supreme Court upheld the appellate courts decision, so that is an early victory for the Prosecution.

This trial could have been completely avoided. Derek Chauvin was willing to agree to a plea deal well before the trial was scheduled and even admit to one of the charges he is currently facing. But the negotiations were in need of Federal approval and the consent of the Department of Justice. Former Attorney General Bill Barr kyboshed the idea for 'reasons' and the resulting aftermath of this trial will be partially the fault of Barr.
