Purple Heart Ceremony in honor of Tech. Sgt. Ariel E. White and Tech. Sgt. Marshal D. Roberts. Sunday, March 7, 2021 “GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ON BEHALF OF COL MICHAEL B. MEASON, COMMANDER, 138TH FIGHTER WING, WELCOME TO THIS SPECIAL OCCASION AS WE HONOR TECHNICAL SERGEANT ARIEL E. WHITE WITH THE ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL AND TECHNICAL SERGEANT MARSHAL D. ROBERTS WITH THE MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, AND HONOR BOTH OF THEM WITH THE AWARD OF THE PURPLE HEART. WE WILL ALSO WITNESS THE DEDICATION OF THE 219TH ENGINEERING INSTALLATION SQUADRON TO TECHNICAL SERGEANT ROBERTS. THE PRESIDING OFFICER OF TODAY’S CEREMONY IS MAJOR GENERAL MICHAEL C. THOMPSON, THE ADJUTANT GENERAL, OKLAHOMA NATIONAL GUARD. While deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Air Force Tech. Sgt. Marshal D. Roberts, 219th Engineering Installation Squadron, 138th Fighter Wing was killed when his unit was engaged by an indirect rocket attack at Camp Taji, Iraq, March 11, 2020.
