US Capitol Police Permit for Demonstration on Capitol Grounds Authorized on January 6 -- Location
This video is taken viewing from the spot where the US Capitol Police issued a permit for a demonstration on the US Capitol Grounds, Northeast corner of the Capitol grounds, across 2nd Street NE from the U.S. Supreme Court for 1:00 PM on January 6, 2021. You can see the portapotties set up at that location pursuant to the permit. No one can place items like portapotties on the Capitol Grounds without permission from the US Capitol Police.
OBVIOUSLY, that permit did not authorize or contemplate what actually happened or the horrendous misconduct inside the building.
But it does show that those who stayed OUTSIDE the Capitol may have a valid legal defense if they were only demonstrating.
Video filmed by Jonathon Moseley attending as a volunteer reporter and writer for National File.
