Cars Collide, One Turns Over, SODA, March 8, 2021 - At approximately 8:25 am on March 8, 2021, a gray 2012 Chevy Malibu, driven by Aaron Cumbie, 32, of Livingston, pulled out of Crystal Lakes West Road over to the west-bound lanes of 190 East. Cumbie switched to the outside lane, while a red 2011 Mazda MZ2, driven by Laritza Villanueva, 19, of Livingston switched to the inside lane to avoid striking Cumbie. The vehicles collided sending both into the east-bound lanes as both came to rest on the bridge over Menard Creek. Villanueva's vehicle rolled coming to rest upside down. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Colton McQuilkin and Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Villanueva was trapped in her vehicle. Firemen were able to free her. Villanueva was transported by ambulance to Kingwood Hospital. Cumbie was physically okay, but his pregnant passenger, Shelbi Roberts, 29, of Livingston, was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure. Villanueva's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich. Cumbie's vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing and will be stored in Livngston. No citations have yet been issued as this accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
