How to Make Drawstring Bags - Lined & Unlined | Sewing Reusable Gift Bags

Join me as I make two different versions of super simple drawstring bags - unlined and lined. This is a great beginner sewing project perfect to use as reusable gift bags for holidays and special occasions. We’re doing a Learn to Sew in 2020 series on the entry-level Brother CS7000i sewing machine.

Basic Sewing Supplies for Beginners

Fabric requirements / dimensions:
Small Unlined Drawstring Bag (Makes 1)
*Fabric - 5 x 12 inches (use a non-directional print or solid)
*1/4 inch Twill Tape (36 inches)
Finished size approx. 4 x 5 inches

Medium Lined Drawstring Bag
*Outer Printed Fabric - 8 x 10 inches (2)
*Solid Lining Fabric - 8 x 10 inches (2)
Finished size approx. 7 x 4.5 x 3 inches

Large Lined Drawstring Bag
*Outer Printed Fabric - 10.5 x 12 inches (2)
*Solid Lining Fabric - 10.5 x 12 inches (2)
Finished size approx. 9 x 6 x 4 inches

*1/2 inch Twill Tape (total 128 inches - enough for both Medium & Large bags)
