Members Of The Georgia's House Of Representatives Were Threatened With Arrest After Storming Up The Stairs Of The Georgia State Capitol To Protest Election Reform Bills
.
Several Democrat Members Of The House Joined In The Spontaneous Protest Prompting A State Trooper
To Intervene Because The Protesters Were In Violation Of A State Law That Prohibits People From Disturbing Lawmakers While The General Assembly Is In Session.

Although The House Had Recessed For Lunch, The Senate Was Still In Session.

State Rep. Park Cannon Is The Woman Who Put Her Head In Front Of The Bullhorn And Refused To Step Aside. That's When A Trooper Grabbed Cannon By Her Elbow And Instructed Her To Leave.

The Protesters And Democrat Members Of The House Were Speaking Out About A 66 Page Election Reform Bill That's Aimed At Protecting The Integrity Of Future Elections.

Some Of The Provisions In The Bill Are:

It Would Require A Photo Id When Applying For An Absentee Ballot

It Would Add A Limit To The Number Of Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes In Each County

It Would Require Drop Boxes To Be Kept Indoors

It Would Also Limit The Amount Of Time People Have To Request An Absentee Ballot And Ban Counties From Accepting Private Funds To Help Run Elections.

The Georgia State Senate Has Its Own Bill Aimed At Election Integrity, Called Senate Bill 24, Which Would End Broad 'No Excuse' Absentee Voting. It Would Also Ban The Secretary Of State From Making Election Agreements With Out The Approval Of The General Assembly.

Meanwhile The Senate Ethics Committee In Georgia Approved A Stand Alone Proposal That Would End Automatic Voter Registration When A Person Gets Their Drivers License And Would Expand Poll Watcher Access At Tabulation Centers. Those Proposals Will Soon Move To The Senate For A Vote.

Georgia's Secretary Of State Brad Raffensburger Says Many Of The Bills Are In Reaction To Allegations Of Voter Fraud During The 2020 Elections And Has Not Yet Advocated For Any Particular Proposal.

The Protesters Were Made Up Of Several Different Groups Including Democrats From Fulton And Dekalb Counties, The Party For Socialism And Liberation And The Atlanta Democrat Socialists Of America
