Ships biscuits are a simple way to be prepared as far as carbs are concerned. Carbs are the hard thing to find in most emergencies.

The basic recipe is 2 cups of flour with one tsp of salt. Add water until you have a stiff dough. If you mix it and leave it for a while and then stretch it out a few times, the gluten will be your friend and it will hold together. Bake into (4) 4 ounce biscuits and brown in oven at 300 degrees F or so and then dry them in the dehydrator or oven. This amount of salt and flour will usually make one pound so divide it into four biscuits.
