After recently defunding the NYPD as well as releasing hundreds of people from prison, NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio stated “We now have fewer people in our jails than any time since WW2 and we are safer for it and better for it.” However situations like these have become a common occurence under De Blasio.
Bill de Blasio is an American politician who has served as the 109th mayor of New York City since 2014. A member of the Democratic Party, he was New York City's public advocate from 2010 to 2013.
