Egg laying

Ever wondered where eggs come from? Most of us know they come from chickens. But have you actually watched it drop out of the chicken? It's amazing to watch. This lovely little hen is very special. She is a Cornish Cross which means she's not an "egg layer" but a "meat bird". Her breed is raised on chicken farms, shoulder to shoulder, in giant chicken houses. Her kind normally doesn't see daylight or grass and they never live long enough to lay an egg. She's built like a tank because she was bred to be a fat roasted chicken. Luckily she was spared that life and now lives free on the farm and repays me with a giant egg almost every day.
