• This project was created using the following items:
• Styrofoam Bird and Plastic Globe
• Acrylic Paints (Liquitex, Winsor and Newton, and Grumbacher)
• Glue Gun(Hi-Temp)
• Artist Loft Brushes
• Green Foliage
• Feathers
I did not film every step of the process, but I added each step as to how I completed them below:
The Steps:
•I first removed the feathers from the package and cut/glued the feather pieces into the shapes that I wanted to replicate. (I used the glue gun for this because Elmer’s Glue would be too much of a mess.)
•After it was completely dry, I started to paint my bird completely. I painted the Dome Base with thick acrylic paint (White Newton paint). When the White Newton paint was dry on the dome, I continued to paint the details on the parrot.
• At this point, I used acorns to give the piece more variety, painted them, and glued the trio to the base.
•The last part was to add the green foliage and glue it securely to the base with the glue gun then add the Dome Base for the finished look. It took me about three days to complete this project.
“Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.” So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.”- Genesis 1:20 -23
