Deep Bible Podcast Ep5

Today we read p1 of the greatest speech in human history, the Sermon on the Mount. Then as we wrestle with Jesus' command to be perfect as God is perfect, we learn about God preparing to cleanse sin from the world through the flood in Genesis 5 and God forgiving Israel and letting their sins in the wilderness be rolled over through the blood of their circumcision in Joshua 5. In Job 5 we hear Eliphaz insist that Job's suffering is due to his sin and he should rejoice because if he just 'fesses up God will give him everything he wants. In Isaiah 5 we learn more about the sins in the world that grieve God to the point of threatening complete destruction. Then we land in Romans 5, where we receive some really Good News.
