Acting FEMA Administrator Bob Fenton and Gen. Glen VanHerck of U.S. Northern Command joined California Governor Gavin Newsom and other officials to tour the Community Vaccination Center at California State University, Los Angeles on Feb. 16, 2021. The site was built to administer up to 6,000 COVID-19 vaccinations daily, with walk-through and drive-through options. CSU-LA was chosen to host one of the first two state and federally managed sites due to the large eligible population nearby and with the intent to reach at-risk, underserved communities.
