Members of the 36th Airlift Squadron participate in a bilateral rescue exercise with the Japan Air Self Defense Force. The low cost, low altitude exercise included a C-1, C-2 and C-130H from the JASDF and one C-130J from the 36th. Aircraft dropped bundles into Susaki port that were recovered by Japan Marine Self Defense Force and returned to JASDF. This disaster response exercise is the first ever water drop for JASDF and is proof of concept for dropping supplies that can be recovered by JMSDF when no drop zone or runway is available. Interview: Maj. Sean Boyington, C-10J Instructor, 36th Airlift Squadron. (U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt Miquel Jordan)
