JUSTICE FOR TANEAL - Duncan BC, Feb 16/21

Today crowds protested in defense of Taneal Malone, the conscience of Duncan! Her business harassed by bylaw and VIHA, her person arrested without cause, her license suspended. Can there be a more perfect embodyment of what is happening in canada to those who speak out? This woman is a hero and should be known across British Columbia, but instead the news has misrepresented her story. Why? We came to demand answers from Mayor Michelle Staples, under whose watch these abuses have unfolded.

We freedom fighters assembled at 12:45 in large number at the aquatic center and marched on city hall, megaphones and signs and drums and pots and pans in abundance. We protested around the town hall for hours occasionally taking to the speaking stage. The Hero Taneal spoke to the crowd. Phoniex Muranetz, who was illegally banned from BC ferries spoke. Mayor Michelle staples herself refused to show despite many petitions.

We will continue to ask the Mayor to put up her fight, but the statement was made. We then marched to Taneal's business to serve a cease and desist notice to a neighboring business who had misrepresented and slandered her.

All told, the police and bylaw were fair and reasonable. The people of Duncan were receptive to our message. Everyone had a charge of excitement and came away happier for it.
