Hello I’m Luke Gilfillan and I'm going to be providing you with in-depth guides for how to navigate the challenges that are specific to those currently in high school. So if you are currently in high school, hit the subscribe button so you will be ahead of your classmates. Alright let's jump into the video.
So you're in high school and have decided that you want to write a book, or maybe you’ve already written one and just don't know how to get it out there.
No matter what stage of the writing process you are in, this video is going to help you to publish your book as a high schooler.
There are a unique set of loops that you are going to have to jump through as a minor in order to get a book published and this video will be showing you exactly how to navigate all of this.
And make sure to stick around to the end of the video because I'll also be giving you two tips in order to help you during the writing stage of your book whenever you lose motivation or begin to doubt yourself, because that will end up happening and it's important to know how to push through.
If you have already written your book, skip to the timestamp on the screen
Alright, let's jump into the video.
Our first tip is to start early
For a variety of reasons, writing a book is an excellent idea if you're in high school because at this stage of your life, doing things that would seem mildly impressive at age 50 such as writing a book, are seen as extraordinary when done at age 16, for example.
And it only gets more impressive the younger you are.
Because the impressiveness of doing things rapidly declines the older you are, it is a very good idea to finish your book before your next birthday.
Almost half a year ago I was watching a virtual conference on generational separations.
The main speaker for the conference, who by the way had been paid $10,000 for the one hour speech. Was introduced as having “written his first book when he was 18”
That was how this dude, who was extremely successful and probably worth well over a million dollars chose to be introduced.
That was what he wanted everyone in the audience to know when he walked on that stage.
If you were to acquire that same accomplishment at an age lower than 18, you could see that accomplishment be even more beneficial to you than it was to this conference guy.
My point is, you want to finish this book before your next birthday. And in order to do that, you need to start writing right after you finish this video, and then hit the like and subscribe button.
So that you can see all of the other high school guides that I post.
Our second step is to just start writing.
I've found that a lot of people will say that they are going to do things such as write a book and they never end up making those things happen.
As Yoda from Star Wars said “Do, Or Do Not, There is No Try” So here's what the second step entails: taking your desire to write a book from a “Do Not” to a “Do”
You need to stop saying that you’re going to write a book, and actually do it.
Once you begin to write and see your book idea start to come to fruition, you will take your desire to write a book much more seriously.
I watched some video where that comedian named Kevin Hart was talking about writing a book and he talked about a long period of time where he would always tell people “i'm gonna write a book” but he never actually did it. Then he was in an airport one day and saw a book written by one of his friends on display. Being a competitive guy, right then and there he opened his laptop and started writing. You need to do exactly that and just start writing.
