Kamala Harris has her first call with a foreign leader as vice president as she holds talks with Justin Trudeau on COVID, climate change and diversity. Readouts from the White House and Trudeau's office said the two leaders spoke about diversity, COVID-19, climate change and other issues. One of them was about 2 Candian citizens that are in jail in Beijing, China. Beijing imprisoned Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor in apparent retaliation for Canada's arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou in 2018 on a United States warrant.  The U.S. wants her extradited to face fraud charges. Her arrest infuriated Beijing, and the Chinese government has made moves to punish Canada since then, including banning imports of some Canadian goods. So this is a priority for Canada. They also discussed trade policies between the nations . Then Kamala called President Emmanuel Macron of France. The White House published a readout yesterday entitled Readout of Vice President Kamala Harris Call with President Emmanuel Macron of France. It said, “Vice President Kamala Harris spoke today with President Emmanuel Macron of France, and expressed her commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the United States and France and to revitalizing the transatlantic alliance. Vice President Harris and President Macron agreed on the need for close bilateral and multilateral cooperation to address COVID-19, climate change, and support democracy at home and around the world. They also discussed numerous regional challenges, including those in the Middle East and Africa, and the need to confront them together. The Vice President thanked President Macron for his leadership on the issue of gender equality and for France’s contribution to NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover.”
Biden still has not called Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. Of course there are speculations going on as to why Biden is having the VP calling the other leaders as well as why Biden hasn't called Israel. I shall leave that to your imagination.

But now with the shift to Kamala, although small, is significant. I can't help but wonder if Kamala is being groomed for the position IF or WHEN Biden becomes incapable of doing the job.
