The Purpose of Water Baptism

Water immersion (baptism) is done because of a good conscience towards God, not for salvation. It is a representation of what happened to us when we believed that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day resulting in us being saved in our spirit and immersed into the body of The Christ.
