Restrictions on the Authority of the States-Federalist no. 44

In this paper, Madison establishes that no state shall grant bills of attainder, no ex-post facto laws, a prohibition of state currencies, and finally all government officials and civil officers are to be bound by an oath and affirmation of the constitution.
