Continuing our Spring seeding series: we seeded our cold weather crops one week ago. Some of the faster germinating crops (lettuce, kale) popped first and were already put under light. I actually ran out of under light space and put some of the additional trays outside. If you are doing this as well, be aware that seedlings don't like freezing weather so you will have to monitor temperature.

If you have seedlings under artificial lights, monitor the edge trays and even rotate toward the center if you notice any of the longer term crops (chard, kale, broc, cauliflower) starting to stretch. Shorter crops such as lettuce are not as important to have a robust stem since they will be harvested at a much quicker rate.

The older seeds we soaked (peas, spinach, broc rabb, parsley are starting to slowly germinate.
