Painting Process: "Survey" Part 1

Watch as my oil painting "Survey" begins to develop. I started by painting in colors close to my reference images, but I wanted to use this painting to experiment and push the boundaries of color. As you can see I painted over the 'realistic' layer and began to play with color beyond the reference.
