Kentucky CCDW Class

The Kentucky CCDW applicant course is a good way for inexperienced shooters to learn the principles of firearms safety and marksmanship, as well as learn about the laws governing the carrying of a concealed weapon within the commonwealth.
The course consists of a minimum six hours of classroom instruction followed by a live fire exercise where the student shoots 20 rounds on a B21 target using safe firearm handling techniques.
If you are inexperienced with handling a handgun, this class is designed to help you build skills and the confidence to safely handle, store and operate a handgun.
There are many instructors across the Commonwealth of Kentucky who are certified to teach the course and qualify the applicant for a CCDW license.
You can obtain a list of qualified instructors in your area by contacting your local sheriff’s office and asking for the names of instructors in your area.
Some of the items you will need for this class include a reliable handgun and at least 50 rounds of ammunition. You are also required to bring shooting glasses and hearing protection as well as a cleaning kit for your firearm.
