Jin Xing's speech on Arts development in China

The development of Chinese contemporary culture and modern art is not done by Westerners, but by the Chinese themselves. How many contemporary Chinese artists, musicians, and painters all were educated domestically but bloom oversea. So did I . I went abroad in 1988 and returned to China in 1994. Before 2005, I performed dancing frequently overseas. There is no market for my performances in China. Foreign countries invited me to perform frequently . I am a dance queen abroad and like being raised by a stepmother in China. I couldn't help it later. There are almost 80-90% of the Chinese painters and artists who are very popular abroad, and their paintings are sold very well. Who among the people in China knows their existence? Rarely, unless you pay attention to modern art. Chinese contemporary modern art is a contribution made by Westerners, because they want to know what modern China is doing? What is the problem with our cultural output? It is the management problem of our superstructure. This is more sensitive. Speaking of officials of the Ministry of Culture, you are not interested in modern arts but it does not mean the modern arts don't exist. If you don't understand, you can invite an expert. No. Over the years of Chinese cultural output, the cultural phenomenon is in a sandwich state. The artistic creation of the times is at the bottom, and above it is the heavy traditional culture of 5,000 years. When the leader does not understand modern art , they simply ask what is the relationship between your creation and traditional culture? Then they suppress you.
Above the five thousand years of culture is the propoganda system, propoganda. Can China break this sandwich now? Every country and every society needs its propaganda system. CNN is the American propaganda system. I don't like it because it represents American views. This is no problem. You put aside the propaganda, focus on protecting cultural traditions, and then give a space for modern creation. Each era needs its own artists and contemporary works. We in China are suppressed by many reasons. And we cannot blame them. Cultural Bureau ' officials are timid. Every time they spend a lot of money to bring Chinese culture abroad, it is always the same . There are always red lanterns, dragons and lions for Spring Festivalse. It's no problem. but what about now? I will not celebrate the Spring Festival this year in China, because firecrackers are not allowed. This year I will invited all my friends to a small house in Italy to celebrate the festival.
中国当代文化,现代艺术的发展不是西方人做的,是中国人自己做到的。多少当代的中国艺术家,音乐家,画家都是墙内开花墙外香,本人也在里面。我从八八年到九四年回国,2005年之前我都是在海外频频演出,国内没有我演出的市场,国外请我去演出。我在国外是舞蹈皇后,在国内是后妈养的。后来我没办法。几乎有80-90%有多少画家艺术家们在国外火得一塌糊涂,画卖得好极了,国内的老百姓有谁知道他们的存在?很少,除非你关注现代艺术。中国的当代现代艺术是西方人作出的贡献,因为他们想知道现代的中国在干什么?我们的文化输出是什么问题呢?是我们上层建筑的管理问题。这就比较敏感,说到文化部官员了,你对现代艺术不感兴趣并不是它不存在。你不懂你可以请专家来。没有。这么多年来中国的文化输出,文化现象是个三明治状态,时代的艺术创作在最下面, 之上是五千年的沉重文化, 领导不懂时就问你的创作和传统文化有什么关系?就要压制你。在五千年文化之上压制的是宣传体系,propoganda. 中国走到今天能不能把这个三明治给掰开了。每个国家每个社会都需要它的宣传体制,CNN 是美国的宣传体制,我不看,因为它代表美国观点。这没问题,你把宣传放一边,然后文化传统重点保护,然后给一个现代创作的空间,这就可以了。每个时代要产生自己的艺术家和时代感的作品,我们中国是一个压一个,也不能怪他们,文化官员们胆子小。每次花不少经费带中国文化到国外去还是那些东西,中国过年就几个红灯笼,耍几个龙和狮子,这没问题。那现在呢?我今年的春节不在国内过,因为国内不让放鞭炮。我今年请所有的朋友到意大利一个小家过的节,我在意大利请的那波利罗斯人。
