How to be thankful - How to stop worry and anxiety video series

Being thankful is a skill essential to the success of all our relationships, but it also brings meaning into our lives.

In the Bible, Jesus teaches us that being thankful is meant to be an important part of our lives – it is actually the Will of God for those of us who are Jesus’ disciples. I used to believe that by worrying, I was able to prevent horrible things from happening in my life. I used to believe – if you care, you worry. But I eventually understood that worrying does the opposite of that, and in fact, it had almost destroyed my marriage.

Here I was, focusing only on the wrong things my husband was doing, thinking he must be a narcissist, and here he was, trying to show me he loved me. So one day, I started listing all the positive things I could remember that he’d done for me, or for us. I did that every day for five months, but with little effect. In fact, three months later, we were on the brink of divorce.

Once I turned to God, however, I started understanding *how we can really shift our focus from the negative to the positive, effectively. This skill has literally changed my life and my marriage!

Because getting rid of emotional garbage such as worry and anxiety will help us to not only be able to feel loved by others in whatever love language they may be speaking, but it will help us to be able to be more loving towards them in all the love languages! :) :) :)
