FD RX-7: My Quest to Catch the Viper GTS at VIR North Course

MADS (Mazda driving school) event in my daily driver, just learning while trying to be safe, too. A few clean laps and then the highlight of my weekend was finally chasing down the Viper GTS and getting the pass.

MADS event circa 2002, '93 RX-7 R1, original stock suspension, Kuhmo MX street tires, and Hawk HPS street brakes. Apexi RX6 single turbo with an open wastegate running 13psi.

For those not familiar with the old MADS driving event rules, for safety, passing is only allowed on the 2 straights, after the leading driver acknowledges you with a wave.

Shout out to Malloy Mazda, their sales department was always great to us, and Mazda's Motorsports program was awesome to give benefits to us little guys that just played on the weekends. They saved me $2000 alone when I needed a new transmission!!
