Using Acid to Dissolve Limestone from Fossil

In this video, I demonstrate using acid to dissolve limestone from petrified wood. This method works with any silica-type fossil, and is more effective at cleaning without damaging than using mechanical tools. If you are not sure what minerals a fossil contains, you should not fully immerse the fossil in an acid bath, or you will risk damaging it.
