This was the first appearance of Airbus A380 in Hong Kong. Note that the route was a specially selected one so as to attract the most spectators on both sides of the harbour.
Normally the planes won't fly in Victoria Harbour after the Kai Tak airport closed in 1998. The new airport is about 25km away.
