Heart Shaped Valentines Shortbread Cookies / DIY Valentines Gift Ideas

In this video which is part of my Valentines mini series I will be showing you how to make Valentines heart shaped cookies, or as in the case of this video I have made heart shaped shortbread.

This makes for a great DIY last minute valentines gift idea and tastes absolutely fantastic with the shortbread cookies being all butter and if you are feeling adventurous you could even decide to personalise and make them extra special by deciding to decorate cookies.

By baking your own heart shaped cookies you can really add a personal touch to your valentines day, giving your loved one that extra personal touch by giving them these amazing cookies.

You could give the shortbread cookies just as they are but for an extra special touch who not take it next level and make chocolate coated shortbread cookies or go one step further and make honeycomb shortbread cookies!

The shortbread cookie recipe is a very straightforward one using only four ingredients, as well as the usual butter, flour and sugar I have also included the addition of cornflour which gives the shortbread cookies a light texture and helps to keep it crumbly when eaten.

To keep the shortbread cookies looking really good and sharp I have used my set of heart shaped cutters. They are readily available and inexpensive, I have had my set throughout my professional baking career and they are still in good condition owing to only being used a few times a year.
