Washington: Mt Rainier, The road to Sunrise, the other side of the mountain

The trip to Mount Rainier was a great day, Sara invited her friend and friends mom to join us to Mt Rainier. We were headed to Paradise, but I took a wrong turn and realized it about an hour later.
Sunrise is also a beautiful destination, we wanted to step on the actual Glacier on the mountain, but the girls ran out of steam before we reached actual snow. We made it up past the tree line and the batteries on my camera, (I only brought 1 camera that day) started overheating. Most of the pictures at the plateau were way over exposed, so we all switched to cell phone cameras, and as we hit the plateau, the clouds had fully engulfed the mountain. That is extremely common in this area, in fact, it’s rare to see the top of the mountain. We savored the pictures we actually got and fully enjoyed the day. I hope you enjoy the slideshow.
