Guinea fowl are found in groups in the wild

The guinea fowl or what is known in English as the Guinean chickens (scientific name: Numididae), a subfamily of the class of birds in the order of chickens, although some authorities (such as the American Federation of Ornithologists) do include the Ethiopian chicken as a subspecies, Numidinae, under the subfamily Quail. The Ethiopian chickens are native to Africa, the Helmeted Guineafowl chickens have been domesticated, and both wild and wild species of birds have been brought elsewhere.
