Part of Assateague Island National Seashore is reserved for Over Sand Vehicles (OSV). If you have a properly equipped vehicle and purchase a permit you can drive for about 12 miles on the beach until you come to the VA line. I went this day with a friend and her dog and we spent the day exploring and swimming and just having a great time.
