Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, vv. 13-16:
Jesus says, "You are the salt of the earth; but if salt loses its savor, with what can it be made salty? It is good for nothing but to be thrown away and trampled by men. You are the light of the world; a city on a mountain cannot remain hidden, nor a lamp be lighted to put it under a bushel, but on the lampstand to give light to all who are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
