Making Corned Black Powder

This is just 75:15:10 Home made Bp.
Dampened with 1 1/2% water.
No binders are added to this mix.

When the pucks are "corned" they are fresh out of the press and not allowed to dry out. As you can see they break up nicely still keeping the sharp edges to them. Once air dried after corning they are actually sharp.

This is the method I have been doing for years and works very well. I do corn mine larger than most people do. If you wanted to you can push the BP threw a second time using a 6 mesh screen for 2FA.
My powder is fast enough I have to leave it larger size to keep from punishing my guns.

As you can see this process don't take long at all. The corned powder drys very quickly to as so little water is added verse granulation process for making BP. This is hotter powder do to the fact re-crystallization isn't happening do to lack of water used.
