December 22, 2020 After protesting at Larry Obhof's house two days earlier, we showed up at the Ohio Statehouse and waited five hours to catch Larry Obhof as he came out of caucus, not knowing how long it was going to take. Before I started this livestream, Ohio Representative Chris Jordan spoke with us on the status of SB311. In this livestream is the conversation we had with Ohio Representative Jena Powell as we waited for Larry Obhof to come out of caucus. I apologize for the sound quality. As you can hear, the acoustics of the Rotunda create quite an echo chamber.

Jack Windsor reported on our exchange with Larry Obhof after this livestream took place: https://theohiostar.com/2020/12/26/obhof-backs-down-from-early-threat-to-override-veto-on-sb311-but-bill-may-not-be-dead/

"A group assembled atop the steps leading into the Senate Chamber. Senate President Larry Obhof (R-22) stepped into the space between doors just outside the entrance to the Senate Chamber and was peppered with shouts. “Get 311 on the floor!” “Hold the override vote Obhof!”

The Senate President looked at the citizens and repeated the talking point Ohioans had heard from the Senate for over a week – “the House doesn’t have the votes.”

That comment was met with objections “the House HAS the votes!” Obhof waved his hand to dismiss the comments and walked into the chamber.

The Senate did not bring SB311 to the floor, consequently it did not receive a vote."

Consequently, we decided to go back to Larry Obhof's house five days later for another protest on December 27, 2020 in an attempt to get him to bring SB311 to the Senate Floor before the deadline at midnight on December 31st.
