Minute Layup Drill
Minute Layup Drill
Today I'm sharing a video on the "Minute Layup Drill". You can challenge your kids and try to beat their score!
Practicing layups at game speed is difficult because it's hard to simulate the adrenaline and speed of game play. The minute layup drill adds pressure when performing a layup because your are racing against the clock.
This is also a great conditioning drill. You'll start to feel fatigued about half way through. Recover with free throws and then do it again!
Keys to the minute layup drill:
Try to minimize your dribbles. Be efficient with your dribble and don't double dribble in between shots.
Always start with right side regular and then left side regular to get warmed up and then branch off to different areas of the court.
Try different methods of finishing and use different angles on the court.
