How to overcome the fear of conflict - How to stop fear and insecurity

One of the most freeing things in my inner healing journey was learning how to overcome the fear of conflict!

Growing up in an abusive environment, I ended up developing a fear of conflict, meaning, whenever something bothered me, I wouldn’t speak up, but I would ignore my feelings. I kept doing this over and over again, especially in new relationships, until my anger would just bubble up and explode without my being able to do anything about it.

I’d end up involuntarily emotionally vomiting on the other person, who, of course, had no idea why I was so upset over something small that had happened. They didn’t know I had been carrying a whole lot of unprocessed negative emotions, for weeks and sometimes months. They’d think I was overreacting (which I was), and I’d think they didn’t care about me, so I ended up cutting them out of my life.

But then, I started my inner healing journey, and little by little, I made mental and emotional room to understand other people by processing all my emotions and experiences. I kept applying Scriptures and replacing my destructive coping mechanisms with the healthy emotional skills Jesus teaches us in the Bible, and I learned to overcame my fear of conflict! And if I did it – you can do it too!
