Looking Back: The Trump Administration’s Lasting Legacy
President Trump has left office. Joe Biden is now President of the United States.
Today on Sekulow, we said thank you to President Donald J. Trump. The 45th President of United States secured many victories during his term, such as furthering the cause of defending the unborn and standing up for religious liberty.
President Trump thanked his family during remarks today as he was departing:
"Thank you very much. And we love you, and I can tell you that from the bottom of my heart. This has been an incredible 4 years. We’ve accomplished so much together. I want to thank my family, and my friends, and my staff, and so many other people for being here. I want to thank you for your effort, your hard work."
President Trump also said the following during his farewell remarks, yesterday:
"As I conclude my term as the 45th President of the United States, I stand before you truly proud of what we have achieved together. We did what we came here to do, and so much more."
This is a day where it is alright to be sad. It is alright to be upset. It is alright to be down when you can imagine what another four years would have been like with a Pro-Israel, Pro-America, Pro-Life, America First, President. President Trump was able to fill three vacancies on the U.S. Supreme Court. So I don’t think today is a day where you have to quickly shift and be excited about President Biden or the policies he is putting in place. The peaceful transition of power is something to be celebrated, but you do not have to be happy about who the power is shifting to. That is also an American right.
Today is day to appreciate all the great things that President Trump did on policy. Cut through the rhetoric. Cut through the tweets. Look at the actual policy accomplishments. They were tremendous.
President Biden called for unity in his inaugural address and has been for weeks. His policies that will be enacted don’t demonstrate unity. He’s going to repeal the Mexico City policy so your taxpayer dollars will again be funding overseas abortions.
Elections have consequences. We’ve been saying that for a long time. The most immediate consequences occur when a new president is sworn in. There will be a number of Executive Orders signed that we will strongly disagree with.
The full broadcast is complete with much more discussion about President Trump’s four years in office and what the Biden Administration is doing on its first day in office.
