On the trail of the Norsemen

Lloyd tours L'anse aux meadows in northern Newfoundland, home of the only known Norse era settlement in continental North America. Widely regarded as a way station to fix and repair ships, it provides evidence of the Norse exploration along the North American coast over 500 years before the 1492 voyage of Christopher Columbus.
It is probable that L'anse aux meadows lay in what the Greenlander saga referred to as Markland, although Markland may refer to the Labrador coast only. It is also possible that the settlement is the Northern most point of Vinland. The location of possible southern settlements in Vinland remain a mystery.
