Bach’s Orchestral Suite no. 3 was most likely written sometime in the 1730s and virtually nothing is known about its’ early performance history. The suite is comprised of several dance movements, the Gigue being the final movement. Original scoring is for strings, oboes, and trumpets, timpani, and continuo.
