As of today, Nintendo has shut down the Wi-Fi Connection for the Wii and DS. So it's the end of an era. No more online Wii or DS games. It has been a lot of fun, and I didn't want it to end, but at least I was able to record some footage for various games and post it on my channel.

I figured I might as well record my stats for some online games that I own on the Wii and post it here since these are now officially my final stats. A couple of these games (Goldeneye and MotoHeroz) tracked player stats through online leaderboards, which are now shutdown, so I made sure to log onto those games last night and grab footage. The other games display your stats offline, so I didn't have to worry about losing that information.

Excitebike World Rally doesn't track any online stats, so there's nothing for me to upload with that game. However, I did unlock every single color scheme in that game, including the friend points color schemes. I didn't play Grand Slam Tennis online enough for my stats to matter, so I'm not uploading that.

Now, in case anyone hasn't noticed, I don't "move on" from any of my games. I don't care if they are NES games or black & white Game Boy games. I keep replaying all the games in my collection because I don't get tired of them. So I'll keep playing all of my Wii games and I'll continue to upload playthroughs as well. For anyone wondering, the Wii is probably my third-favorite home console behind the NES and then SNES.

Here are the time stamps for the game stats:

Mario Kart Wii - 0:00

I got Mario Kart on its launch day in 2008 and proceeded to play it off and on over the years. It's one of my favorite Mario Kart games, but it got frustrating at times with the way items could just annihilate you in a race, and with how overpowered Funky Kong was. I probably should have played it more, but I earned the 3-star rating, had the gold wheel icon, and got to race with friends like Keet, Bait, Iggy, Andy, Jaye, etc., so I can't complain too much. I may have hit 9000 VR shortly after the game was released, but I don't think I ever did that again.

The Conduit - 0:49

I first saw The Conduit in a preview in Nintendo Power and I instantly had flashbacks to Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64 due to the science fiction setting. Just like that an FPS was on my radar for the first time since Perfect Dark. I had tried various shooters throughout the GameCube era, and I even picked up a used copy of XIII, but I just couldn't stand the dual analog control scheme and I didn't care for the overall design in a lot of the post-N64-era shooters. So I gave up on the genre.

Then I managed to play The Conduit at E3 2009 before it was released. I was instantly hooked and spent about an hour at HVS's booth playing the game. I pre-ordered the Special Edition from GameStop and played the game continuously for about a full year after its release. I played it even more than Mario Kart Wii during this time. I loved most of the Human weapons and the Trust weapons, but I hated Drudge weapons with a passion. I favored the Deatomizer for quite a while, then one day I picked up a Carbonizer in a Streets match and got a Reign of Terror with it just like that. That instantly cemented my love for the weapon.

However, after about a year the game's release its problems really started to bother me. So I stopped playing the game before Conduit 2 came out and only came back on rare occasions.

Conduit 2 - 1:21

I pre-ordered the Special Edition for this game as well and eagerly waited to see if it would correct the flaws from the first game. Lucky for me, it corrected a lot of the flaws, including bunny hopping and an overpowered USP45. And for the first time, I could choose what weapons I wanted to use online. No one got to vote on my weapons. Needless to say, the Carbonizer/TPC Launcher was my Loadout # 1 through the entire lifespan of the game.

I did earn a legitimate Killer Kill (I have the footage on my channel), but the game froze during that match, so it didn't record the achievement.

Will CarbonizerMike ever return? Only High Voltage Software has the answer to that.

Goldeneye 007 - 3:18

A friend gave me this game for Christmas of 2011. I played it off and on in between Conduit 2. I got to max rank because I kept running into hacked XP lobbies (lucky me). I didn't like the controls, but they were usable. This game got really, really frustrating at times, but I had some fun matches.

MotoHeroz - 5:34

I got this WiiWare title on its release date and did the online time trial challenges for maybe a month, then I stopped because they kept repeating. I think I earned the best time for one challenge involving a flying stage. This is an excellent game with a lot of content. It might be my favorite WiiWare game.
