One Of Our Deleted Albums Series

Mike Harrison (1942-2018) was the lead singer in Spooky Tooth. When Spooky Tooth broke up in 1970, Mike Harrison recorded three solo albums between 1971 and 1975.

Smokestack Lighting was the second of Mike Harrison's solo albums. It was released in 1972 on Island Records, catalogue number ILPS-9209.

This is a really good album which never got the recognition it deserved. It was deleted from the Island Records catalogue. It was re-released on CD by a re-issue label but those re-issue CD's are now deleted too.

As far as I am aware, this album is currently available only as 2nd hand copies of the original vinyl LP or re-issue CD.

Audio here taken from a mid 1970's British pressing of the original Island Records vinyl LP.

Track list:

1. Tears 0:00
2. Paid My Dues 4:09
3. What A Price 8:35
4. Wanna Be Free 14:25
5. Turning Over 18:41
6. Smokestack Lighting 25:10
