The Kiltubrid Pipe Band - Part 1 (Podcast)

In 1949 local people gathered together to see about forming a new band in the area, which would become known as 'The Kiltubrid Pipe band'. First of all, a meeting took place at Doyle's Public House, where a committee was formed and the plan was put in place. The band got a trainer in Sean Donaghoe from Donegal. I spoke to original members John Joe McGirl, John Joe Farrell, Jackie Lee, and Past Flynn who spoke to me about the very first outing in 1949. I also speak with PJ Meehan, Sean Wynne from Arigna, and current Chairman Kevin Keaney, as they celebrate the bands the 70th anniversary.
