Early Ice Pike and Bass Fishing with the Slayer Max 12.5 (December) Ice Breaking Action!!!
Underwater release footage is after each fish caught so don't miss that.

The day was December 10th 2020 and the place was a small Southeast Wisconsin lake.

On the drive to the lake I was unsure of the conditions at the lake,
day time temps for the past few days had been warm and on this day it was in the low 50s.
I noticed some small ponds on the way had ice and some didn't, this was likely related
to how much shade the ponds had and if they were sheltered from the wind.
it certainly didn't feel like December 10th.

I arrived at the lake and there was ice covering most of it, so I tested how thick
it was first by tossing some small rocks and they went right through. I then waded
in a bit to inspect and the ice was very thin, probably like 1/8 inch.

So I decided to just break up the ice using the kayak like a ice breaker.
this worked like a charm and really opened up the lake.

I am glad I didn't chicken out and go home or to another spot, keep watching to see
why.

The sky was also really impressive with the low angle of the sun making some spectacular visuals
during the day and early evening.
